The Ecosystem and Endangered Species
The environment is a topic that is on the minds of many people around the world and many are looking for ways to help the environment. In reference to saving the environment this is necessary for sustaining life on this planet. Many endangered animals and endangered species in general are partly responsible for sustaining life as we know it. Endangered species that become extinct often set off chain reactions that can lead to the endangering and extinction of other animals in the world. Plants and animal species are also necessary for sustaining a healthy ecosystem. Human life depends on various ecosystems in order to supply food and water as well as air to breathe. If we continue to pollute these various ecosystems then we will not be able to continue our existence on this planet. In addition to this many loggers cut down the trees that are necessary for all animals to breathe and sustain life. Cutting down forest land endangers many plant and animal lives and also contributes to the declining amounts of clean air available on earth. Many different industries are responsible for the decline of healthy life on this planet. Smog producing industries such as the coal industry contribute to instances of acid rain that threaten plant and animal life at an increasing rate annually. The northern spotted owl for instance is an endangered species of animal that helps to bring the realization that something must be done about our declining ecosystem. These endangered animals have been killed off by dangerous industry practices that have laid waste to large areas of trees worldwide. In addition to this much pollution on the coasts of Florida has contributed to the killing of many fish species annually as well as the coral reefs in the area. This pollution is not only devastating to plant and animal life but humans as well through economic downturn from the decline of tourism in the area.
